MONDAY BIBLE STUDY: w/Sr. Joanne Johnson, CSJ

This group gathers weekly on Mondays to pray and study the Scripture readings for the upcoming Sunday's assembly.  All are welcome.  Consult the bulletin for times and place.

M.A.C.H. (i.e., Mothers and Children) BIBLE STUDY:

This is a group of mothers of all ages who gather for community support, prayer, and bible study.  Gathering on Wednesdays (consult the bulletin) during the school year, the first hour is some group activity or study of faith and family life; and the second hour is comprised of a study and faith sharing of the scriptures for the upcoming Sunday.  Child care on-site is available for mothers with little ones to care for.  For additional information contact: Meredith Hollcraft (857-3333).

CATHOLIC SCRIPTURE STUDY INTERNATIONAL:

Jesus' Passion: The Story of Redemptive Suffering is divided into five parts (5 lessons to be given during 5 Wednesdays this Lenten season).  It examines the Scriptural basis of Mel Gibson's movie, The Passion of the Christ, and looks at how this powerful portrayal of the suffering and death of Jesus relates to the Bible and the teachings of the Catholic Church.  For more information - watch the bulletin as we near Lent and/or contact Fr. Bob.

TOTAL FAITH FORMATION OPPORTUNITIES

WHY CATHOLIC?

Small adult faith communities gather together to pray, discuss and study the Catechism of the Catholic Church.  This year's study takes a look at Part II of the Catechism - The Sacraments.  One need NOT have participated in last year's Why Catholic sessions to join in this year's session.  The year is comprised of two 6-week sessions.  One will be held in the fall (October-November) and the other will be held during the Lenten season.  Watch the bulletin for details.  For more information - contact Fr. Bob.

CATHOLIC NOVELS

Now in it's 7th season at Cathedral, this adult faith formation discussion group gathers on one Saturday a month from 9-10:30 to discuss the faith implications of a novel which was assigned for that month.  Come join in the engaging and delightful conversation and perhaps gain some insights into the human condition and faith.

MARY WIDOWS

Designed for men and women who have lost their spouse(s) in death, this group gathers with Fr. Bob (typically) on the last Wednesdays of the month from 10-11 for fellowship, informed conversation about the faith and activities at Cathedral and the universal church, and a recitation of the Rosary.  Watch the bulletin for specific times and dates.

LENTEN PARISH MISSION

After two years absence, the Cathedral will again hold a PARISH MISSION during this year's Lenten Season.  The theme of the Mission will be:  THE HOLY SPIRIT & PERSONAL CONVERSION.  The Mission will consist of nightly masses with an extended homily intended to enkindle and inspire a deeper life of faith; and additional opportunities for personal prayer and conversion.  Watch the bulletin closer to Lent for specific details.

PILGRIMAGE TO LOURDES & FATIMA

January 9th-16th 2008 - members of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception (joined with others from other parishes) will travel to the very site where our Lady declared herself: The Immaculate Conception during the 150th anniversary of that blessed declaration.  These two sites have been deeply treasured by Catholic tradition as holy places and sites of tremendous miracles.   Contact the parish office for pilgrimage brochures.

PASTORAL LEADERSHIP PROGRAM

This year the Diocesan program - open to any adults in the Diocese who wish to deepen their understanding of the Catholic Faith - offers the following theology classes:  Moral Theology; Church Social Teaching; and Liturgy: A Seasonal Approach.  For more information and/or registration, please contact Deacon Dan Hannig or Sr. Pat Murphy at the Diocese of Crookston, 281-4533.
