Befrienders are lay people who extend the love of Christ through a ministry of listening, caring presence, and gentle support. They act as a formal extension of the pastoral ministry of congregations. A Befriender Ministry in your faith community can:
- Empower lay people for ministry.
- Increase the effectiveness of reaching those in need.
- Nurture more caring and welcoming communities.
- Enhance faith formation for individual ministry participants.
- Extend and enrich the visitation ministry.
Befriender Ministry meets the first Thursday of each month, 7:00 pm at the Cathedral. Please contact Deacon Dennis Bivens, 281-1735, Ext. 206 if you are interested.
